PreKindergarten News

The children are back in the routine of the classroom after the Christmas break.  You can really start to tell how much the students have improved since the start of the school year.  It is really neat to see.  We are working hard on our listening skills and following 3-4 step directions.  We are also working on taking care of our own belongings.

Come and check out our classroom on Feb. 1st for our Open House that we will have for Catholic Schools Week.  As you are in our room look for our craft projects, snowmen, penguins and owls that we have made.  They were lots of fun to make and they add a nice touch to our room.

We have started to say “The Hail Mary” prayer before we start each school day.  Ask your child if they can say it.  We are still working on “The Prayer Before Meals”.  The students are getting much better at using their right hand when making the Sign of the Cross.

We have started to work on learning how to write our last name.  For some of us, this takes a long time when we have a long last name.  The children are doing a great job with it.

The number is 8 is very hard to make.  It takes lots of practice making it.   Teddy Bear counters are used a lot in the room as we practice counting our numbers and we also work on our listening skills.

By the end of January we will be up to the letter Pp.  P is always a favorite letter for the kids because we will be doing different activities with Pickles.  Our room takes on a unique aroma that week. J

I would like to say “Thank You” to everyone who has donated items to the classroom this year.  It has all been very much appreciated.
