Sixth Grade News
It has been enjoyable using our artistic talent to create artwork for Catholic Schools Week and for display at the pancake feed. We are eagerly anticipating Open House and hope to have many special guests visit us.
Multiplying and dividing decimals is our new lesson in Math. We are doing quite well and will soon be ready to move on to our measurement unit.
In Grammar, we have been working hard on our verb unit. We realize that there are many exceptions to our grammar rules and we often have to consult a dictionary when in question!
We have started our earth science chapter. We will be performing some labs that will help us understand our earth and how it is formed. We will also be able to visualize the enormity of our earth by watching a couple of discovery videos throughout the unit.
Our unit over the Asian empires has wrapped up, and we are moving on to the African nations.
Officer Weis has started the D.A.R.E. program with us on Tuesdays. This program’s goal is to teach us to resist drugs and violence. D.A.R.E. is an acronym for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. We are being presented with information that will help us make good decisions in the future.
Thank you to all of the families who have made donations to our classrooms and school. We appreciate you giving us the ability to enhance learning in the classroom through these donations.
